Text on the lamp : "Standard-issue campaign reading lamp (model of 1929, modified in 1935), used by Colonel de Gaulle, officer commanding the 4th Armoured Division, on the night before the counter-attack against GuderianŐs XIX Corps at Moncornand on the 17th May, 1940. Twenty years after falling into German hands it was returned to General de Gaulle by Chancellor Adenauer, who expressed the hope that this historical object should be presented to Christophe Grüninger on the occasion of his 50th birthday "
