atterrissage au Tanezrouft

Mahogany and steel.
H.70, W.200, D.78 cm (1980).

This aircraft made a forced landing in the Tanezrouft desert, south-west of the Hoggar mountains. The impact ripped off one wheel. The plane ground to a halt after jolting and raking the sand for 50 metres. The pilot and his sole passenger, a celebrated concert pianist, died after 9 days. First they drank the water in the radiator, then they drank the engine oil.
